Prince Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan is a thoroughbred Lagos Prince; one of the sons of the immediate past Oba of Lagos, His illustrious Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyinka Oyekan of blessed memory.
Born on the 1st Day of March, 1970 at the popular Idungaran Palace in the heart of the historical City of Lagos, he started his academic sojourn at the renowned Ireti Primary School, Ikoyi, Lagos before proceeding to Ayaki Secondary School, Okerimi-Oro, Kwara State where he obtained the West African Examination Council Exams Ordinary Level Certificate in 1988.
He was at the Kwara State Polytechnic where he bagged a Diploma in Law in 1991 and to further his latitude, he proceeded to the Lagos State University and graduated with the LL. B Degree in Law and was called to the Bar after the mandatory one year at the Law School, Bwari, Abuja in 2001
Ifalade was at the prestigious Middlesex University, London in 2005 for a Post Graduate Course in Law and his voracious thirst for knowledge found him on the streets of the University again in 2008 when he bagged a Masters of Law LL. M from the same Middlesex University.
Prince Oyekan cut his professional teeth with the Administration and Legal Department of Adeniyi Adebayo Law Firm in 1991, before teaming up with Fouad Oki and Associates as a Consultant in Community Job creation.
During his mandatory one year National Youth Service Corp he was engaged by Boppfad Nigeria Limited as a Properties Agent in the Properties Department, and upon the conclusion of his service to his fatherland he was immediately engaged by Rouq & Co as a Property Counsel. The quintessential Prince gave a good account of himself everywhere he had the opportunity to put his foot, often living behind giant steps.
From his very first step into the Corporate world, Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan has not faltered as he has moved from heights to heights and in the September of year 2005, he was appointed as the Personal Assistant to the Managing director of Lagos Channel Management Limited and in year 2008, precisely on the 13th of February, he was mandate to wear a second as the Head of the Human Resources Department,.
The vivacious Prince Oyekan is a man of many parts and his activities cut across several Interests, Industries, and Sector s of the Society. He was an accomplished academy athlete and won several laurels as a footballer, so it was not surprising to many who had his acquaintance when he in August, 2011, he became the Chairman of the Lagos Divisional Football Association comprising of Lagos Island, Surulere, Lagos Mainnd, Apapa and Eti-Osa areas of Lagos all well known for their robust footballing history. During his tenure, football development in the areas under his jurisdiction was refocused and redefined with several National Heroes emerging from the process during his stint.
He also became an Executive Member of the Lagos State Football Association in September, 2015 and he was saddled with the responsibility of overseeing Grassroots Football, which had become his forte among his contemporaries in the Administration of football in Lagos State.
The Prince is a consummate professional and member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chattered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management, the Certified Institute of Shipping in Nigeria, the Institute of Management Consultants and the Nigeria Football Federation among others.
Omoba Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan is at home with the grassroots and has contributed immensely to the development of the people and environment at the most impactful level of the society and that is why he has a cabinet filled with every serious grassroots organization in Lagos.
Among these are the Recognition and Appreciation for Community Development Award- 2019, Oluwa Intimate Merit Award-2018, Isale Eko Woro Association Merit Award- 2018, Idi-Omo Youth Forum for the Most Valuable Philanthropist Award-2015, Onita Ajigba Festival Merit Award-2015, and the African Age International Leadership Award- Leadership Gold Award for Excellence- 2013.
As a student at Ayaki Scondary Grmmar School, he was awarded a prize as the Most Consistent Student, while he was awarded the Lagos Channel Management Long Service Award in 2015.
His Philantrophy is gradually accruing legendary status and this informed the establishment of the Erinjogunola Life Foundation for Community Development which he also serves as the President in the memory of his illustrious father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyinka Akinola Oyekan, the 25th Oba (King) of Lagos who was renowned for his philanthropy, vision of a better human community, peaceful cohabitation; qualities that endeared him to indigenes and residents of Lagos, especially Lagos Island and its immediate environs.
The pacifist leaning of the late Kabiyesi was well acknowledged and many who came across him considered him a bridge builder.
The Erinjogunola Life Foundation for Community Development is a Youth focused and development driven organization, established to espouse the ideals for which Kabiyesi Adeyinka Oyekan was well known and further entrench the ideals in the daily lives of our Society with a view to building a greater Lagos and of course a better country.
Ifa as his admirers refer to him is a devoted husband and father, who love music, sports travelling, meeting people and reading.
